Ben serves Legacy Venture as a Managing Director, bringing with him the diverse perspectives of an investor, entrepreneur, and operator.
Previously, Ben was an early stage venture capitalist at Maveron and Storm Ventures where he generated significant returns for his investors. For example, his early investment in Marketo resulted in a public company valued at nearly two billion dollars. Ben has been a member of the exclusive Society of Kauffman Fellows for over a decade, which selects and trains emerging leaders in the venture capital industry.
As an executive, Ben ran product management for Adobe’s Creative Cloud offerings, the company’s most significant strategic shift in decades. Previously, Ben directed strategy at Greystripe, a mobile ad network acquired by ValueClick. He also cofounded mobile commerce startup, CoffeeTable, where he earned his stripes raising financing, building a team, and ultimately selling the company.
Ben enjoyed several years of his early career in Singapore, where he also had the privilege of leading humanitarian relief teams to Bangladesh and Afghanistan. He serves on the board of the San Francisco Chinese Culture Center and the Children’s Health Council.
Ben received his B.A. in Computer Science with Honors from Harvard University and his MBA with distinction from Columbia Business School. Born in Peoria, raised in San Francisco, and educated in Cambridge, Ben now lives in Palo Alto with his wife and three sons, who every day keep him young and age him fast.
